Seminar on Mental Health: “Breaking the Silence – Ending the Stigma Around Mental Health
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture, Multan (MNSUAM) organized a seminar titled “Breaking the Silence – Ending the Stigma Around Mental Health” on May 22, 2025, to raise awareness and promote a supportive campus environment. Guest speakers including Dr. Imran Shafi, Dr. Asif Mughal, Ms. Rashida, and Mr. Zahid addressed topics such as early intervention, treatment options, resilience, and community resources. The interactive session featured Q&A, awareness media, and peer-support networking, encouraging students to openly discuss mental health concerns. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the speakers and presented souvenirs in recognition of their contributions.
The event successfully enhanced awareness, reduced stigma, and encouraged greater utilization of counselling services, equipping students with practical stress-management tools. The initiative reaffirmed MNSUAM’s commitment to fostering a healthy, inclusive, and resilient campus culture


Solidarity Seminar with Oppressed Muslims of Gaza and Palestine
Character Building Society (CBS), Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture Multan, organized a special seminar and rally to express solidarity with oppressed Muslims of Palestine and Gaza on April 27, 2025. The chief guest, Mr. Junaid Nisar (Senior Volunteer, Shaab-e-Abi Talib Multan) expressed his views on the rights of the Palestinian people, their struggle at the international level, and the responsibilities of the international community. Many students, faculty members, and citizens of the university attended the event. After the seminar, a peace march (rally) was also taken out on the campus, which aims to raise the voice of the Palestinian brothers at the global level. According to Additional Senior Tutor Dr. Akhtar Hameed, this program is an important step to raise voice against oppression, protect human rights, and strengthen brotherhood among the Muslim Ummah. On this occasion, many senior administration deans, directors, faculty and students at the university were present who, through solidarity, sent a message to the world that the ongoing genocide and barbarity against the Muslims of the region should be immediately ended, and the UN ceasefire agreements should be implemented immediately.
Seminar on the Blessings and Spiritual Demands of Ramadan
The Qiraat and Naat Club of Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture, Multan (MNSUAM), organized a spiritual and academic seminar entitled “Blessings and Spiritual Demands of Ramadan” on March 17, 2025. The event featured a keynote address by renowned religious scholar and orator Maulana Abdul Wahab Attari, who spoke in depth about the virtues of Ramadan, its individual and collective impact, and its significance in the light of Quran and Sunnah. Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad Rajwana, Vice Chancellor of MNSUAM, attended the seminar and praised the efforts of the Qiraat and Naat Club. He congratulated Dr. Akhtar Hameed, the club’s convener, and his team for organizing a meaningful event.
Addressing the event, he expressed that “A university is not only a place of academic learning but also a centre for moral and spiritual growth, and it is events like these during the holy month of Ramadan help in still religious consciousness among the youth.” He further highlighted the important role of the club in enriching the university’s cultural and spiritual environment.

In his keynote address, Maulana Abdul Wahab Attari emphasized the spiritual aspects of fasting, Taraweeh prayers, and the recitation of the Holy Quran during Ramadan. He stated, “This blessed month is a time for divine mercy, forgiveness of sins, and self-purification.” He urged students to make the most of every moment in Ramadan by engaging in good deeds. The seminar also featured impressive recitations of the Holy Quran, Naat performances, and speeches by students on the significance of Ramadan. At the conclusion of the event, the Vice Chancellor presented honorary shields to the guest speaker and organizers. Speaking to the media, Dr. Akhtar Hameed, convener of the Qiraat and Naat Club, stated, “Our mission is to promote religious learning and cultural activities among students. We will continue to hold such meaningful programs in the future.”

One-Day Seminar on Spiritual Preparation for Ramadan: Worship, Character, and Community
A seminar was organized by the Qirat and Naat Club and Character-Building Society at MNSUAM on March 1, 2025. The seminar aimed to prepare students for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. The guest speaker, Prof. Dr. Rashid Ahmed, emphasized that the system of worship in Islam is a fundamental means of shaping a Muslim society. He highlighted that worship not only shapes the character of an individual but also enables them to contribute positively to society. He enlightened the audience by deliberating that the system of worship in Islam aims to establish a sense of community and social responsibility.
He foregrounded that Quran and Ramadan are closely linked, with the Quran defining the purpose of fasting as achieving piety. Students and faculty members participated in large numbers, including Dr. Akhtar Hamid, Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq, Ms. Umrah Zafar, Ms. Misbah Sagheer, Mr. Mohsin Raza Saeedi, Mr. Hamza Hasnain, and Mr. Ahmad Akbar..
Seminar on Youth Resilience and Countering Extremism
MNSUAM organized a one-day seminar on “Advancing Inclusive and Resilient Youth Communities through Preventing Violent Extremism at Educational Campuses” on February 24, 2025. The event featured leading academics, policymakers, and media experts who highlighted the role of education, research, and community engagement in promoting peace and inclusivity.
Keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq (DG, Islamic Research Institute, IIUI) emphasized integrating ethical values and constructive dialogue to prevent extremist ideologies. Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad Rajwana, VC MNSUAM, reaffirmed that universities must serve as hubs of tolerance, resilience, and intellectual growth.


Seminar on Combating Violence Against Women through Community Policing
MNS University of Agriculture, Multan, organized a seminar on “Combating Violence Against Women through Community Policing” on October 29, 2024, in Room 110. The event aimed to raise awareness, encourage dialogue, and highlight the crucial role of community policing in addressing violence against women. The seminar was hosted by Ms. Aimen Batool, with Prof. Dr. Shafqat Saeed, Dean FAES, as the guest of honour. He emphasized the need for joint efforts to create a safer and more just society for women.
The seminar featured four expert speakers. Advocate Ms. Iram Riaz outlined Pakistan’s protective laws, including the Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act (2010) and the Domestic Violence Act (2012), while stressing the need for legal awareness. Mr. Arshad Mehmood from the Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights (PCHR) discussed the role of UN Women in promoting equality and supporting local initiatives.
Dr. Hira Ahmad, psychologist at the Violence Against Women Centre (VAWC), shared how the centre provides legal aid, counselling, and case support. ASP Dr. Anum Tajamul highlighted police mechanisms, including helpline 15, and ongoing training programs for officers to better address gender-based violence.
The seminar concluded with an interactive discussion where participants suggested solutions, emphasizing community involvement, student education, and accessible support services. Prof. Dr. Shafqat Saeed closed the session by commending the organizing team, including Dr. Muhammad Usman Jamshed and Dr. Fawad Zafar A. Khan, for raising awareness on such a critical issue.
Scientific Writing Certificate Training (15th Batch)
The Directorate of Graduate Studies at MNS University of Agriculture, Multan, successfully organized the 15th Batch of the Scientific Writing Certificate Program from October 23 to November 1, 2024. The seven-day training aimed to strengthen postgraduate students’ ability to communicate their research effectively and ethically.
The program was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq A. Rajwana, who emphasized the critical role of scientific writing in academic and research careers. He motivated students to overcome the fear of statistical analyses, reassuring them of the simplicity of mastering analytical tools with consistent practice.

The training featured a series of specialized sessions:
- Day 1: Principles of Scientific Writing – Dr. Unsar Naeem Ullah and Ms. Aimen Batool introduced the fundamentals of clarity, structure, and style.
- Day 2: Materials & Methods – Dr. Fawad Zafar A. Khan and Dr. Mohsin Nawaz guided participants in writing technical sections and developing schematic diagrams.
- Day 3: Ethics of Scientific Writing – Prof. Dr. Tanveer Ul Haq and Dr. Ummarah Waheed highlighted plagiarism, authorship criteria, and integrity in research.
- Day 4: Data Analyses & Presentation – Dr. Amar Matloob, Dr. Shoaib Ur Rehman, and Dr. Abu Bakar trained participants on statistical analyses and effective data visualization.
- Day 5: Discussion, Introduction, Abstract & Title – Dr. Ahmad Mahmood and Dr. Hafiz Mohkum Hammad explained key elements of crafting impactful manuscripts.
- Day 6: Writing a Review Article – Dr. Farrukh Baig and Dr. Zulqurnain Khan covered literature search, synthesis, and critical analysis.
- Day 7: Research Project Development – Prof. Dr. Nasir Nadeem and Prof. Dr. Junaid A. Khan provided guidance on proposal design, budgeting, and grant writing.
The program concluded with an interactive feedback session and examination on November 1, 2024, assessing participants’ learning outcomes. The initiative provided postgraduate students with practical skills to excel in academic writing, ensuring integrity, quality, and impact in their research careers.

Mehfil Zikr-e-Pyambar-e-Aman (P.B.U.H.) at MNSUAM
On September 13, 2024, the Qirat and Naat Club of MNS-University of Agriculture, Multan, organized Mehfil Zikr-e-Pyambar-e-Aman (P.B.U.H.) to celebrate the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). The event brought together students, faculty, and community members to honour the Prophet’s message of compassion, tolerance, and peace.
The program began with a soulful recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by heartfelt Naat’s presented by members of the club. Dr. Umer Farooq (Dean, Faculty of Food and Home Sciences) and Dr. Rasheed Ahmad shared reflections on the Prophet’s (P.B.U.H) teachings of harmony, respect for diversity, and social justice, emphasizing their relevance in addressing contemporary challenges. The Mehfil successfully inspired attendees to integrate values of forgiveness, patience, and mercy into their lives, while strengthening the spirit of unity within the campus community.
Independence Day Celebrations 2024
On August 14, 2024, MNS University of Agriculture, Multan celebrated Independence Day with great zeal, bringing together students, faculty, staff, and families in a series of patriotic activities. The Rover Scouts Unit, supported by different student clubs under the Senior Tutor Office, organized the event to honor the spirit of independence and unity.
The program began with Quran recitation by Madrasah students as a tribute to the martyrs of Tehreek-e-Pakistan, followed by a dua. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq A. Rajwana, led the flag-hoisting ceremony where the national flag was raised amidst the singing of the national anthem, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony.

A tree plantation drive, organized by the Plant for Life Society, was also held in the mango ground to promote environmental sustainability.
In their addresses, Prof. Dr. Shafqat Saeed and Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq A. Rajwana paid tribute to the sacrifices of the forefathers and encouraged students to uphold patriotism, harmony, and skill development for national progress. Students of Mosigala Beats performed national songs, while the Debating Club organized a debate competition, and the Dramatic Club presented skits emphasizing the role of youth in reviving Pakistan’s economy. The celebrations fostered a sense of unity, patriotism, and responsibility among participants.
